Viva Green 3D Motion Graphics
Why I created it
I’m always exploring new ways to design and experiment in the multimedia space. Expanding my skills in 3D modelling inspired me to create this motion graphics project as a lively way to draw attention to environmental issues and encourage greener living.
How I created it
To bring the concept to life, I designed and modelled each object from the ground up in Blender, using the project as an opportunity to refine my 3D modelling techniques. I integrated a vegetation add-on to create realistic organic textures, then animated the scenes directly in Blender. Finally, I composited and polished the motion graphics in After Effects, ensuring a cohesive and engaging final piece.
Design concept
Unique, unexpected ideas tend to capture attention, so I exaggerated the eco-friendly theme by covering ordinary objects entirely in vegetation. This playful approach highlights the importance of living green in a bold, unconventional way. Each object was then presented on a rotating platform, making the video more dynamic and engaging.

Challenges
Due to hardware limitations, rendering the full animation was time-consuming, so I divided the project into five segments, each highlighting a different object. This approach made rendering and adjustments more efficient. Another challenge was ensuring consistency across materials and colours, since they reflected light in different ways. I carefully adjusted the lighting and colour balance to achieve a cohesive look. I also experimented with the coffee-pouring scene, fine-tuning the timing so the cup filled naturally without overflowing.

Key takeaways
This project reinforced the value of experimenting with new tools and software, which expanded my technical skills and helped me discover fresh ways of bringing ideas to life. At the same time, working with hardware limitations pushed me to be adaptable—developing efficient workarounds and optimizing my process to keep the project moving while maintaining quality.
Fun facts
The cat featured on the iPhone screen is Stanley—a chubby food enthusiast with a high-pitched voice, whose dream is to one day catch a laser pointer.
What’s next?
While I enjoyed creating this project in Blender, I know there is always more to learn. I'd love to continue developing my 3D skills to broaden my creative toolkit and push the boundaries of my motion design work.
